In November Steve Scarrott, Peter Willis and I trekked down to Brighton to attend a kyusho jutsu (pressure point) seminar with Rick Clark. We enjoyed his relaxed and friendly approach, which kind of made up for the amount of pain he inflicted upon us!

Quite a few Ni-Sen students went to the recent Patrick McCarthy seminar
|
A great time was had by all at the recent Patrick Mccarthy seminar in Stanford-le-hope in Essex. Over 70 students from many different styles hung on his every word. I was glad some of my own students got to train with him for the first time to see for themselves what I’ve been harping on about for the past couple of years! I knew they wouldn’t be disappointed. I got this feedback from Jason King, a black belt who has been training with me for 14 years. “I thought the course was fantastic. I could have listened to Mr McCarthy all night without getting bored. I was amazed at his knowledge of eastern culture, physics and anatomy and how he applied it all to karate.” Mr McCarthy should be back in the U.K. in March ’04. Details will be on this site as soon as I have them.
Well done to Kate Dove, Jacob Glen and Rob Long who entered the Yamaguchi Goju Kai kumite competition on Sunday the 7th of December. Jacob and Rob came away with bronze medals, but more importantly you all gave gutsy performances. I was very proud of the three of you.
