CLASS STRUCTURE

I run separate classes for tots (5-7 years). kids, (8 years+). and adults.

Why?

Because a ten year old will be playing sports at school; will probably be able to ride a bike, and maybe swim. Their balance and motor skills are usually well developed. A five year old has only been walking upright for about four years! By the same token, adults usually train for different reasons to children and are not always happy to train amongst a crowd of kids.

As a result, each age group requires a different lesson structure that caters to their specific needs and what they want to get from the classes

In addition to that, classes can be divided by grades, so there will be some classes that are only open to experienced students. Obviously, the syllabus for black belts is often consideraby more advanced to the material being taught to white belts.

I also run some classes .of mixed ability because I've found that sometimes, lower grades can benefit from training with more experienced students who can act both as mentors and role models.
